OUR THREE Punters Corner tipsters certainly had a mixed bag of results for their followers from last week’s tips.
On the Friday at Albion Park, Chris’ tip in race three in Bail Denied failed to flatter and finished mid field as $4.80 second favourite.
Then The Methven Magpie’s best bet of the week at Rangiora on Sunday in Song Of Seas, was a huge street comer tip on the day and was very well backed, but did its lot by breaking and losing all chance at the start.
Mark waited until last night’s Shepperton meeting for his top tip of the week and he failed by a pencil line in finding a winner for Punters Corner followers.
He was very keen on Son Of A Broad in race six, but was beaten by a nose by Loiero, in the very last stride at $1.75 favourite.
So close, but Son Of A Broad is one to follow in the near future and we would have to give The Magpie’s tip of Song Of Seas a second chance, when he goes around next time.
OUR THREE TIPSTERS are in nice and early with their top tips for this week which is week seventeen of our 2026 Punters Corner Charity Tipping comp.
THE METHVEN MAGPIE is first in, and he heads to Sunday's Rangiora meeting for his best bet of the week, and it comes up in race four.
He’s very keen on the Colin and Julie De Filippi trained Seasidemagic which has drawn the five marble.
The Downbytheseaside (USA) filly had it tough last start from a tricky draw and this week coming out of five The Magpie considers the 3-year-old a great winning chance.
So, it's Race 4 No. 5 Seasidemagic at Rangiora this Sunday for The Magpie's followers.
CHRIS has to say about his best bet –
Saturday @ Menangle Race 1 No. 6 ISTHISJUSTFANTASY
The Victorian mare who came north hoping to secure a start in the Gr.1 Queen Elizabeth but ran into bad luck, never got a clear crack in the home straight.
Starts in a support race and with even luck, can play a role.
Enjoy!
AND MARK –
Newcastle race this Friday night and in race 7 Barrys Rose looks very close to a win.
A member of the Michael Formosa stable, she’s a 3 time winner from 31 starts and has been in the money plenty recently.
Despite drawing out in gate 7 this does look an easier assignment than recent runs.
If she gets a good trip she can break back into the winners list
Good punting
Mark
Good punting to all.
