FROM LAST WEEKS three best bets our tipsters came up with a winner and a second for their Punters Corner followers.
The guys first tip came up at Methven last Sunday afternoon where The Methven Magpie was all over Troubleshooter in race eight.
Unfortunately, sixth as the win favourite was its lot.
In saying that, when the rain came and the grass track become so heavy most horses’ chances went out the door, so we can put a line through that one.
On Monday, Mark tipped the Brad Hewitt trained Snipers Fire in race six at Goulburn, who went a real nice race running second to $1.50 favourite I’m No Trouble.
Chris was able to come up with a winner for us, even though it was a very slender one, when he tipped Grand Chateau in race six at Gloucester Park last evening.
The daughter of Ultimate Machete got home by a bare nose paying $2.00 on the Queensland TAB.
With $20.00 added to his tally after thirty-five weeks of our 2026 Punters Corner Charity Tipping Competition, Chris is now back at the top of our leaderboard with $344.00 banked.
The Magpie is only $2.00 behind with $342.00 and then Mark with $234.00.
CHRIS -
Friday @ Addington Race 9 No. 5 CAPTAIN TYRON
Looks an emerging talent, shaped up nicely during first campaign and looks like he’s come back better this prep.
Keep following!
The Methven Magpie is heading to the big race at today’s Oamaru meeting for his best bet for this racing week.
The Hannon Memorial is always an important race on the NZ harness racing scene for the open class pacers heading towards the New Zealand Trotting Cup and today’s addition is no different.
Dreams Are Free is a part of the inform Nathan Williamson stable and The Magpie expects the son of Captaintreacheroous (USA) to take out today's Hannon Memorial.
So it's Race 8 No. 5 Dreams Are Free at Oamaru today for The Magpie's top tip for Punters Corner followers – Presently paying $4.60 for the win.
MARK -
Young race on Tuesday night and in race 5 Star Connection looks a good chance in an even race.
Coming off a couple of just behind the placings finishes, the horse gets a great chance for trainer driver Nathan Hoy to break through.
Drawn beautifully in barrier two expecting a good showing.
Good punting
Mark
Good punting to all.
